Ingrid Carbone is an absolutely atypical artist in the world of music. The curiosity to deepen my knowledge of her arose from listening to some of his valuable interpretations of music by Liszt and Schubert, but not only. Discovering that she graduated at just 21 years old with top marks and honors in mathematics and that, after having achieved the role of researcher, she still teaches mathematical analysis at the University of Calabria, gave rise to a question: what vision of music could there ever be an artist so in love with her instrument, the piano – an expression of feeling and imagination – and at the same time with such an exact science as mathematics – an expression of precision and logic? Hence the desire to ask Ingrid to tell about herself and her perception of music in four episodes, in order to express her passion for mathematics, her love for nature, her spiritual sensitivity and, finally, her soul of an authentic ‘Wanderer. Thanks to Ingrid for accepting our invitation.
