A spiritual interpretation of Liszt
The fifth CD entitled “Liszt: Consolations, Legends, Invocation” is distributed as an attachment with issue 269 of the Classic Voice magazine.
The compositional career of Liszt, a Freemason and Catholic, was divided in two by the religious turn. Which led him to dream of an official role in the Sistine Chapel, close to Pius IX.
Liszt’s religious side is interpreted on the piano by Ingrid Carbone. It is not the first time that the pianist, mathematician and artistic researcher has chosen this type of pieces: Liebestraum and the Legends have always been part of Ingrid Carbone’s repertoire, and she has also dedicated her first and third CDs to Franz Liszt. In this version, recorded and published by ClassicVoice, the sweetness and religious sentiment evolve into new brushstrokes, which trace the boundaries of a humanity immersed in devotion.

MATTIA ROSSI - AUTHOR
“Here, between these two Liszts, so radical and different, there was that mystical, spiritual and poetic parenthesis on which Ingrid Carbone sheds light”.
