On Saturday, May 16, Piano City celebrates two of its most beloved guests: Bruno Canino and Enrico Intra (pictured). Both are in their nineties and adoptive Milanese; each, in his own way, embodies a musical history spanning a century. At 5:10 PM, at the GAM Piano Garden (Via Palestro 18, free admission), Intra—a central figure in Milan’s cultural life and one of the first Italian musicians to develop a European concept of jazz—will give a live recording performance of compositions written specifically for the GAM, in preparation for a new album. At 6:00 PM, at the Cineteca Arlecchino (Via San Pietro all’Orto 9, free admission), Canino will focus on Romantic piano repertoire, performing Schubert’s six *Moments musicaux* and Brahms’s four Ballades, Op. 10.
