Here’s a translated excerpt.
On Thursday, December 4, at 5:30 pm, at the University of Siena, in the Ex Cappella San Nicolò (Via Roma, 56), pianist, mathematician, and music and culture communicator Ingrid Carbone will be the featured guest at the Conversation-Concert event, organized to celebrate the 85th birthday of mathematician Rainer Nagel.
The event is free, subject to availability.
The event will consist of a conversation-concert, a format conceived by Ingrid Carbone herself and successfully presented in Europe, China, Latin America, and the Middle East.
The event will be held in English and will feature the pianist performing music by Leoncavallo and Schubert-Liszt.
During the event, the pianist and researcher will guide the audience in exploring the relationship between music and mathematics, demonstrating how the discipline and clarity of mathematical thought support the interpretative process. Ingrid Carbone will illustrate the concrete influence of logical-deductive thinking on the work on the score, from which a deeper, more authentic and conscious performance emerges.
